Pottery by Alisha | January 2025 Newsletter & Updates

Hello friends!

Welcome to 2025! Alisha your friendly Albuquerque cat pot dealer here, updating you on what's been going on and what is soon to come. If you'd like more real-time updates, follow along on Instagram where I update daily stories and occasional posts.

Recap the Past

December's Rail Yards Holiday Market was a blast. Thank you to everyone who showed up and ooo'd and awe'd my pottery. If you bought a gift for someone, I hope it also brought them joy. I posted my last kiln reveal video for 2024 on YouTube sharing my excitement taking out many of the items I sold at this market.

We did a silly thing and counted how many people called the pottery "cute". We got exactly 100! We may have missed a few comments, but at least 100 people agree my work is cute. Next time I think I'll have a secret prize for the 50th and 100th. Will you be the next cute-o-meter winner??

After the market, I fulfilled my promise and donated $250 to New Mexico Animal Humane. I'm looking forward to being able to donate even more in 2025 for all the puppies and kitties out there who need a warm home and lots of love. If I could adopt them all, I would, but a little secret for you... I am allergic to cats and dogs even though I have one of each! I sneeze all the time. I think donations will have to do.

Presently

Did you get to relax and hang out with family or friends over the holidays? I hope it was pleasant for you. After a brief holiday break and a road trip to Memphis, I jumped back into the studio and began making many new items the first week of January. With another market coming up soon, I'm not slowing down as many makers do in January. I also updated my website to include an art gallery page that hopefully loads better with smaller file sizes. It's a place to see many of my past artworks and pottery examples all in one area.

Sneak Peek

I'll be at the Rail Yards Valentine's market on Saturday & Sunday, February 8 & 9 from 10:00-2:00. That's right, I'll be there on BOTH days peddling kitty cat pots to the cat lovers out there. I sure hope it's not too chilly!

What will I be adding to my herd of cats? Small vases! This week I started experimenting with cat vases. It seems appropriate for Valentine's Day to have something that holds flowers. Another secret... I've never been able to smell flowers. I love the look of beautiful flowers, but smelling them was never a joy I could partake in. Crazy eh?

I will also still have mugs in a variety of sizes and colors and bowls with and without handles. If there is something you'd specifically like me to have, please email me, or message me on Instagram. I'd love to know what you want.

In the Future

I hope to see you in February! For those of you outside of Albuquerque, I plan to have an Etsy shop update at the end of February or the beginning of March. I will keep you updated on Instagram and my website homepage. I shall solidify the date by February's email newsletter.

My 2025 plan is to be at the Rail Yards Market and Winrock Market each once a month for the regular market season May-October. I'll probably sprinkle a few other in-person markets as they come up. I also hope to have an Etsy shop update every 3 months or so. I'm looking forward to an awesome first full year of pottery!

Meow for now,

Alisha Hagen
